Galina Khutoryansky, Music Director, has established herself as a well respected musician
and pedagogue on both sides of the Atlantic. Graduating from Gnessin Pedagogical
Academy of Moscow she went on with her career as a pianist performing with various
orchestras, collaborating with chamber musicians, and as an accompanist to opera singers.
Nonetheless, she finds that her biggest accomplishments are her students that go on to
great careers in music. Her students have performed in various concert halls throughout the
metropolitan area including Weill Recital Hall, Merkin Hall and Allice Tully Hall. Galina has
undertaken this new endeavor of the Concert Festival in hopes of making it a worthy
experience for talented young musicians.
Yelena Polezhayev, Artistic Director, is an accomplished concert pianist, chamber soloist,
organist, accompanist and music teacher. Yelena graduated from St. Petersburg
Conservatory, Russia. The following few years Yelena toured all over Europe and Russia as
a soloist, as well as in collaboration with many world class musicians. She has also coached
and accompanied many young talents at international competitions in various instruments.
After her family moved to the US, Yelena and her husband Vladimir founded a successful
music school and created the "Long Island Piano Duo". Together they toured Spain,
Germany, Canada, and regularly perform in the Metropolitan NY area and all over US.
Vladimir Polezhayev, Artistic Director, multi-talented musician, a pianist, organist, composer
and arranger, chamber soloist and teacher. Vladimir graduated from St. Petersburg
Conservatory, Russia. As a soloist of concert organization "Lenconcert", Vladimir traveled
extensively across the former USSR, performing in great stadiums and intimate concert halls.
In addition to the prestigious position of composer and arranger for the Pop Symphony
National Radio/TV Orchestra in Moscow, he held the unique position of "Improvising Pianist",
which was created especially for him and was abolished upon his departure. During the
tenure with the orchestra he composed and arranged hundreds of songs. All were performed
live on National Radio and TV. Composition published in Russia and in the US. Member of
ASCAP.
Irina Fishman, Executive Director, is an accomplished entrepreneur, with a degree in
Business Administration and Marketing from St. John’s University, NY. Musical arts have
always been Irina’s passion. Her exceptional background derives from her traditional
upbringing; her mother, piano teacher and her father, businessman. Irina has now
channeled her passion for music by joining a Concert Festival. She offers an objective ear
to the contestants, suggests business options, while working within the parameters of the
musicians and artists. Irina’s love for music and her creative talent is an unbeatable tool in
organizing and coaching young musicians. Irina strives to promote a way for young artists to
endeavor in the way classical music as it is perceived by the new generation. “I envision this
festival to highlight a one-of-a-kind cultural and creative exchange for performers."
